Re-registration Information

July 24, 2020

Hello Parents this is Sara Najarro, Principal at Stanton Elementary where we are soaring our way to college. I am emailing to remind you about our re-registration for all new and returning students. Please see attached letter giving you detailed steps on how to log into your account with your previously created log in or create your parent portal account in Aeries to update all of your student contact information. It is essential that parents update all student, parent and ADDITIONAL CONTACT information and all 7 steps before the first day of school in order to ensure placement in a class and view your child's teacher. This is for all students no matter if you are enrolling in Distance Learning/Hybrid or GOAL (new students, new Transitional Kinder, new Kinder and returning students in grades 1-5).   This is the only way you will be able  to find out who your child's teacher will be for the 2020-2021 school year.  This is the only information we will have to contact you or any emergency contacts. Please be sure it is updated.

During this re-registration process you will also have the opportunity to complete the free and reduced lunch application. Please be sure to do this as this must be completed each year to continue to qualify for free or reduced lunch.

At this time we will be starting school in a distance format on AUGUST 24th and we will send updated information to you soon as far as what to expect. If you have any questions, please email kmperez@glendora.k12.ca.us or snajarro@glendora.k12.ca.us.

School Closed Thru May

April 02, 2020

Dear Glendora Community,

The governor, the state superintendent of public instruction, and the Los Angeles County superintendent of schools have made it clear that the safest place to be is home during the COVID-19 pandemic and have called for school district closures. With that in mind, our campuses, as well as others statewide, will remain physically closed for the remainder of the academic school year. As we complete our first week of Distance Learning in Glendora, I want to assure you that the well being of our students, staff, families, and community remains at the forefront of every decision.

As disappointed as we all are with these circumstances, while campuses are closed, school is still in session and instruction will continue. Remote learning is a new experience and we are all learning during this time. Whether learning how to navigate the Google Classroom platform or how to avoid cabin fever, we recognize the many and varied challenges surrounding us these days. To assist with learning, we have added links to the student and parent Aeries portals that might help at home. We are enhancing and adding to these resources on an ongoing basis.

Thank you to our teachers, staff, and students who are demonstrating amazing creativity and out-of-the-box thinking to strengthen remote learning. Thank you also to the remarkable parents and caregivers at home for your responsiveness. Support, caring, and love for students, teachers, and families has been evident in so many ways via social media and other venues.

If you have any questions about assignments, please contact your child’s teacher(s). If you have additional questions in general about the school your child attends, please contact the principal/administrator via email. While our campuses are closed, we continue to work remotely and will respond in a timely fashion. School is in session and all teachers should have made contact with your child via a virtual platform. It is important for students to connect with his/her teachers and classmates daily. We need to keep our lines of communication and collaboration open.

I am proud of how our students, staff, and community have come together and found creative solutions to such a rapidly evolving, unprecedented challenge. I am encouraged that by working together we will rise to the challenge.

Best regards and good health to you and your family,
